Almost time

Happy new year!
I'm off to Cusco on sunday. THIS SUNDAY.

It rained for three days straight in Boston, and afterwords the manhole on the street outside was shooting steam out like crazy. Check it out.

In preparation for this journey, I invested in a new camera. I scooped up the Canon Rebel XS, and it is totally sweet. Learning how to function the camera is easy, but using the camera the right way is hard... I'm working on the hard part.

Check out one picture I've gotten so far. It obviously came out cool by accident, but I'll take it.

I'll be putting up more and more pictures as I take decent ones.

I'm making this here "blog" to document my upcoming trip.
What trip? I'm glad you asked.
I'm off to Peru and Chile for twelve weeks, and I'm hopping a plane on January 4th. I'll be volunteering through United Planet, working at an afterschool program for abandoned children and possibly teaching english. I'm pretty used to all this uncertainty by now, but that's not to say I'm fine with it. The stress of it all is... how you say?... soul-crushing.
This whole "blogging" thing is new to me... It's possible that I hate it. We'll see.
